Business clean-up campaign in Bristol

Please see a message from John Hirst:

As you know there is major campaign under way to improve the quality of the cleansing service here in Bristol, which has been initiated by Bristol’s Mayor Marvin Rees.

The aim of the Clean Streets Campaign is to make the city measurably cleaner by 2020 and the Mayor has asked for our help.

Over the last few months we have had an increase in the number of complaints about cleanliness. We are working very closely with Bristol City Council to look at ways to improve the approach to cleaning the streets and removing litter and trade waste.

Destination Bristol are very keen to play their part in this campaign and I encourage businesses to become actively involved in your area during the period of 24th March to 27th March inclusive.

Recently there was a Clean Streets Campaign called ‘Great Bristol Spring Clean’ which was a huge success with 46 different clean-up initiatives run by schools, businesses, neighbourhoods and residents that happened across the city in one weekend.

The feedback from those involved was very positive with them all wanting to make the city cleaner and more presentable to our customers, visitors and residents.
