Old City Sounds returns on Saturday 24 August 2024, from toe-tapping jazz and traditional Irish folk to immersive DJs and heart-pounding alt-rock, experience the best of Bristol’s music scene this August bank holiday weekend.

Music lovers are invited to join us in celebrating Bristol’s vibrant music scene whilst supporting local grassroots venues. Our creative kids zone is also making a welcome return to inspire future generations of musicians. Plan your day of back-to-back music and entertainment using our line-up below.

Old City Sounds Line Up for 2024

Old City Jazz at The Old Duke on King Street

The Old Duke Jazz Festival is back, with toe tapping music on all day and into the night.

Old City Kids Zone at St Stephen's Church

Expect Circus Skills, Bhangra Dance, and Afidance Drumming workshops alongside Face Painting and Arts & Crafts for kids of all ages. Please note, music workshops will be loud.

Old City Sounds on Corn Street

Venues include Death Disco, Dirty Martini, Cocktail Club, Blame Gloria and more!

Old City Sounds on King Street and The Welshback

Bristol Old Vic are teaming up with Sofar Sounds for secret gigs at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm, plus live DJ's will be on from 7pm at Tonight Josephine.

Old City Sounds on The Glassboat

The Pool's takeover at 6 O'clock Gin at The Glass Boat... expect non-stop DJs and delicious gin cocktails.

Old City Sounds on St Nicholas Street

Get your kicks on St Nicholas Street, with Mother's Ruin hosting music outside from 2-10pm. The Crown will be taken over by Void Radio from 2-10pm and a special appearance from Silva at 9pm. Other venues include The Raven, Mr Wolfs, and Seamus O'Donnells for folk music and drag queen karaoke from 8pm.
