Calling All Artists: Shine Bright at Bristol Light Festival 2026

Artists are invited to submit expressions of interest to showcase their work at the 2026 festival

12/05/2025

Over the past six years, Bristol Light Festival has showcased the best and the brightest talents at the city-wide festival in Bristol, UK.

In 2025, over 200,000 people flocked to the city centre during the 7-day festival to witness the stunning artworks illuminating the city, contributing to a record-breaking boost for the city’s economy.

As the 2026 festival approaches, organisers are inviting designers, architects, light artists, as well as students and institutions, to submit expressions of interest for projects that will captivate audiences of all ages.

Bristol Light Festival is particularly interested in:

  • Existing works or new ideas exploring light.
  • Projects which use technology in innovative ways to encourage play and exploration.
  • Sustainable light art which uses green energy solutions.
  • Projects that can be scaled to meet audience demands – During peak times, around 200 people every 20 minutes come through each location.
  • From artists who have a relationship to Bristol, or ideas which speak to the creativity and culture of our city.

Submitted an idea before? The team still have it in review, so please don’t resubmit the same proposal. Bristol Light Festival do however, love to hear from artists who have submitted in the past, with new ideas.

The deadline for submissions is 30th May 2025.
