Bristol City Centre BID wins ATCM Award for Outstanding Partnership

Bristol City Centre BID and its partners collaborated to enhance community safety and promote a positive experience, setting a new standard for collaborative efforts in Bristol and beyond.

Bristol City Centre BID has been awarded the prestigious ATCM Outstanding Partnership Award for its exemplary work in promoting safety and enhancing the community experience. The award recognises the BID’s collaborative efforts with various stakeholders in implementing projects focused on water safety, harm reduction, student safety, drink spiking prevention, BCRP and achieving the Purple Flag award.

The theme of the 2023 ATCM Summer School was Reactivation and Rediscovery post-pandemic, with the event taking place in Leicester City Centre.

During the challenging period of lockdown, when businesses faced numerous obstacles and uncertain futures, the BID seized the opportunity to establish a collective effort. This partnership included businesses, BIDs, Avon & Somerset Police, Avon Fire & Rescue Service, Bristol City Council, Bristol Nights, University of Bristol and UWE Bristol, each contributing their expertise to prepare the city for reopening.

Recognising that safety would be a crucial factor as the city began to reopen, the partnership allowed us to work together cohesively across projects. Every stakeholder played a vital role in these projects through active participation, support, and the contribution of their expertise.

Through shared vision, dedication, and innovation, Bristol City Centre BID and partners have successfully transformed the city centre into a safer and vibrant place for residents, visitors, and businesses alike. The Outstanding Partnership Award serves as recognition of the outstanding contributions to community safety and sets a new standard for collaborative efforts in Bristol and beyond.
