Back in Action celebrates 35 years of helping customers to sit more comfortably.

Back in Action celebrates 35 years of helping customers to sit more comfortably, with a visit from the mayor.

01/07/2022

Back in Action will be hosting a variety of activities from 4-8 July to celebrate its milestone birthday and Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Bristol, Paula O’Rourke, will open the newly refurbished store as the guest of honour from 12pm-1pm on 5 July.

After 35 years of trading, and almost 15 years on the high street,  Back in Action why they think Bristol’s bubbling hub of commerce has never been healthier, as they officially open their rejuvenated wellness and furniture studio to mark a milestone anniversary.

Located opposite the Marriott Royal Hotel and close to Bristol Cathedral, the newly refurbished Back in Action store is filled corner to corner with beautiful, and often Scandinavian-designed, furniture. An ergonomic, design-led business, Back in Action is a mecca for those who have lived through the WFH revolution and resulted to all manner of creative desk set ups. They also accept the new Love Bristol Gift Card alongside 80+ Bristol businesses.

Founded by David and Lindall 35 years ago originally as a pop-up store in their Berkshire home, and since taken over by their daughters Lucinda and Romilly, the company has been a cornerstone of Bristol’s city centre ever since it first opened its iconic store in a derelict nightclub in 1992. For over 15 years the store has been managed by Fiona and her passionate team with their approachable manner and dedication to helping Bristolians invested in their health.

Bristolians have always had a forward-thinking approach to health and wellness. This is why our ergonomics store – complete with a fully refurbished, immersive flotation tank centre – slots perfectly into the city and continues to thrive, despite supposed doom and gloom that bricks and mortar is dead. We know that’s not the case. Furniture is so personal, and quite an investment for many, so our customers appreciate the option to try before they buy and speak with an expert in store for a seating assessment before finally committing to a product that will revolutionise the way they sit, work and relax. I’m proud to live in a city that, thanks to its bustling culture of arts and sustainable living, was named by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to live in 2022. The city continues to support its high street and independent businesses like this one.

Fiona, Back in Action Store Manager

Back in Action pride themselves on being Europe’s leading ergonomic specialists.

The Back in Action Bristol store will be celebrating its milestone 35th birthday with a week of activities, from Monday 4 – Friday 8 July. Customers can drop into the store to enter into a raffle for a chance to win one of Back in Action’s best-selling Varier chairs – one of the most iconic ergonomic chair designs ever made*. Excitingly, the Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Bristol, Paula O’Rourke, will be joining the celebration from 12pm-1pm for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
