This Easter weekend we’re inviting families to explore Park Street and find giant letters painted by a selection of famous Bristol artists, with a special Easter Egg reward at the end.

On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 April from 11am to 4pm, six bold, bright and brilliant letters will be dotted in six different locations along Park Street. Families are invited to explore the shops, restaurants, and cafes in one of Bristol’s most vibrant streets to find all six letters of EASTER and fill in stickers on a bespoke Easter map.

Six Bristol artists have been selected to hand paint their own addition to the letter trail including Marta Zubieta, Sophie Long, Molly Hawkins, Cheba, Kid Crayon and Ejits. Each one of these Bristol based artists has their own distinctive and vibrant style and you can follow their creations via Bristol City Centre BID’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Families can collect their map from the Easter Hub at City Hall on College Green and follow the trail up and back down Park Street. Once they have spotted the six letters and completed their map, they can return to collect an Easter treat from the same spot.

Illustrator and graphic artist Marta Zubieta inspires herself with 90s cartoons, sci fi, pop surrealist art and latin folklore. Sophie Long mainly works in acrylics, exploring the boundaries of expressive art, usually incorporating exuberant animal portraits. Molly Hawkins spreads joy, using the power of colour and pattern. Cheba’s work is heavily inspired by space and magic, depicting parts of the cosmos like nebulas and star clusters. Kid Crayon is passionate about character design and works in an art style that is deeply rooted in Hip Hop, skateboard and graffiti culture. Ejits’ work taps into the big kid in all of us to spark happy nostalgic feelings and a love of colour, character and silliness wherever they occupy space.
