Scrubbing up nicely: We’re looking for a name for our new cleansing vehicle and need your help!

We’re on the hunt for a name for our new cleansing vehicle!

Our trusty milk float cleansing vehicle, which has served us from 2018, has just celebrated four years on the streets of Bristol. It has provided over 25,000 hours of additional street cleansing and removed nearly 6000 unwanted graffiti tags. Sadly the milk float has now scrubbed its final wall, and is off to the great milk float farm of ‘semi’-retirement.

Our brilliant cleansing team, who work seven days a week and support our levy paying businesses with street cleansing and unwanted graffiti removal will now have a brand new, all-electric van. This van is quite the step up – our little milk float was windowless and heatingless, making for some chilly winters for Tom and Ashley.

The new van will continue to work on improving the appearance of the city, making it more welcoming and looking its very best for local businesses and those living and working in the area.

To celebrate this upgrade and this new member of the hard-working cleansing team we’ve been inspired by past competitions to officially name the new cleansing van and would like the people of Bristol to suggest a name.

We’re looking for something fun, original and clean – not a list of Cleany McCleanerson’s!

Add your suggestion below and you’ll be added to the shortlist, which will then go to a public poll online and on social media to decide the chosen name.

The van will then be wrapped with a design inspired by the name so you might see your name brought to life and driving around the city centre very soon!

Get inspired with some past naming competitions, like Doncaster Council’s amazing gritters Brad Grit and Gritney Spears (pictured) or Warwick District Council’s street sweepers, Sweep Caroline and Sweepersaurus Rex.

These bespoke designs will be wrapped around the cleansing van, so the people of Bristol can spot the van whenever it’s hard at work.

Whoever submits the winning name will also win a £100 Love Bristol Gift Card which can be spent at any of the over 150 businesses across the city centre who accept the card.

Get your creative hats on and enter below!
