This Quarter’s training hub top learner

Hear from our Q2 training hub top learner, Trish Brown from St George's about her experience using our free training hub.

What has your experience been like using the training hub?

I have found the free training hub provided by Bristol City Centre BID to be a highly useful resource for lots of reasons. One of those being that as we are a charity we don’t have an extensive budget for training, so by using the training hub it has been a great resource for the whole team to use across a variety of different skill sectors.

I have found the training sessions to be really interesting, with the majority of the courses available being not only relevant to our industry but also being led by relevant industry teachers who were able to offer insight and knowledge from their own experiences.

One current focus of ours is developing our customer service training, which has meant that the customer handling and service courses have been insightful into how we deliver our own internal training. Through this, the staff have been able to access a wide range of courses and now have a better understanding of how to handle different interactions in customer facing roles.

Our staff have also enjoyed the available HR sessions, which has been useful as we currently do not have a full time HR manager so this has provided support for development for all of our managers.

WHAT’S BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE COURSE?

As mentioned previously, a favourite course across our team has been the Dealing with Challenging Customers, which the whole team felt they got a lot out of.

Change Management has also been another useful set of learning as we are now able to provide better support to our team as they go through changes.

Our facilities manager has also enjoyed the Excel Tips & Tricks course too.

What else have you liked about using it?

I’ve liked how easy and accessible it is to access, all courses are easy to browse and find and I like that you can look back and total up how much training you’ve completed. It has also been reassuring knowing that the quality of the courses are also going to be good.

Thank you to the BID for giving us a chance to give our staff a chance to work flexibly and have access to free training!
