Having recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in Bristol, the Bristol Street Pastors are a dedicated team of volunteers committed to enhancing Bristol’s night time economy. Their mission is to provide assistance and support wherever needed, fostering a safer and more inclusive environment for all.

Supported by Bristol City Centre BID and established by the Ascension Trust, the Street Pastors provide a compassionate, non-judgemental service in collaboration with various city stakeholders to promote community safety.

In Bristol, the Street Pastor team conducts regular patrols in popular city centre areas on most Saturday nights. They serve as approachable figures, ready to lend a helping hand wherever necessary. By working alongside emergency services they alleviate the burden on these services, enabling them to focus on urgent situations.

The Street Pastors are equipped to provide first aid care, offer advice and assist individuals in finding a safe means of transportation home. Additionally, they distribute bottles of water, blankets, and flip flops, all whilst ensuring the removal of broken glass from public areas.

Their service is completely voluntary, with the pastors selflessly devoting their own time to ensure the safety of night-time economy users. Their dedication and hard work has positively impacted over 1000 individuals, and their efforts are highly valued by the community.

Are you interested in joining this meaningful initiative? The Street Pastors aspire to extend their patrols to Friday evenings but they currently lack sufficient volunteers to do so. If you know of anyone who might be interested in becoming a Street Pastor please direct them to enquire.
